This short documentary tracks the process of building a pair of soundart pieces based on the growth patterns of vegetable plants. In this project we use two very different approaches to work with the plants artistically. Singer Helen Pridmore produces an improvised voice composition based on the ebb and flow of a potato plant growing against a window. Electronic musician E. Dulanowsky takes a more concrete approach with a tomato plant that is wired to produce a series of oscillations. Different artistic approaches to soundmaking and the development of future experiments are also covered. Presented by Holophon Audio Arts and supported by multiplay.ca who we graciously thank for funding this project.
